We have a variety of software tools that we can use to model a Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine or a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine with varying rotor solidity, number of blades, etc. The aerodynamic conditions such as lift, drag and effective angle of attack at any position of the blade can be examined to provide design insights, or the contributions at all points can be integrated to evaluate the overall turbine rotor performance.

The mechanical forces and bending moments can be computed for any part of the blade and the actual deflections expected can be computed for various choices of material and box section skin thickness.

Design electronics and software control systems to safely track different wind conditions.

It is critical for long term safety, efficiency and reliability, that the operating conditions such as rotational speed are monitored and managed and that the turbine is halted if dangerous or abnormal conditions are detected such as high winds, fracture of the blade, or vibration. We can design power electronics, sensors, and microcontroller software to correctly manage and monitor all conditions.
